"Three months ago, this patio area was mostly plain concrete with limited seating and a lot of untapped potential. We used ChatGPT to help visualize what the space could become — warm lighting, shade sails, upgraded seating, and an epoxy-coated gathering area that would feel inviting day and night. Now seeing the “before,” the original concept, and the finished patio side-by-side is pretty incredible. The final result came amazingly close to the design we imagined back then. The epoxy coating completely changed the feel of the space. It gave the patio a clean, upscale finish while still fitting perfectly with the rustic Black Hills atmosphere of Springs Lodge & Café. Combined with the wood tones, café lighting, and new layout, the whole area now feels like a true destination instead of just unused concrete. Huge credit goes to Flyhawk Coatings for bringing the epoxy vision to life. The finish came out beautifully, tied the entire patio together, and delivered exactly the warm, polished look we were hoping for. The surface not only looks amazing, but it’s also durable, easy to maintain, and built to handle the constant traffic and changing weather of the Black Hills. What stands out most is how functional and welcoming the patio has become. Even in rainy weather, the reflections from the lights across the epoxy make the entire space feel warm, cozy, and inviting. This project is a great example of how a simple vision, good planning, and quality craftsmanship can completely transform an outdoor space.
