π‘ NEW IOWA HOA DISCLOSURE LAW TAKES EFFECT JULY 1
Buying or selling a home in an HOA community? Iowa's new law is bringing more transparency to real estate transactions.
Starting July 1, HOA disclosures must provide clearer information regarding:
β
Current HOA dues
β
Unpaid assessments
β
Pending or planned special assessments
β
HOA transfer fees
β
Other fees that may be charged at closing
β
Whether the seller is current on HOA payments
This change helps buyers better understand the true cost of ownership and reduces last-minute surprises before closing.
Whether you're purchasing your first home or preparing to sell, understanding HOA obligations is more important than ever.
Have questions about how these new Iowa laws may impact your next move? Contact Bryan Curtis with Attain RE today.

Buying a home in Waukee, West Des Moines, or Urbandale? Donβt sign a 3% buyer agreement without comparing your options. π‘
Bryan Curtis-Attain RE is now offering a Flat Fee Buyer Agency at 1.5%. This is a Buyer Agent option designed to help you keep more money available for your new home. The Flat Fee Buyer Agency approach can also allow extra offered compensation (above 1.5%) to be applied toward eligible closing costs, based on lender rules. π°
Hereβs what to ask before you commit:
β’ What am I agreeing to pay?
β’ Is 1.5% an option for my situation?
β’ Could any overage become a closing cost credit? π
As a Real Estate Broker and Buyer Agent, Iβll walk you through the numbers and the agreement in plain language. If you also need a Listing Agent, we can run a Comparative Market Analysis and talk strategy.
Send a message to learn how the Flat Fee Buyer Agency at 1.5% works for your next move. π
